Statute of Limitations Crisis

Attorney General Garland testified to the House Appropriations Committee that the Trade Fraud Task Force has 70+ active investigations underway. Since testimony, only 6 have emerged as formal complaints or indictments. Without PAIL funding for dedicated prosecutors and forensic support, these investigations risk running past the 5-year civil statute of limitations, allowing fraudsters to escape accountability entirely.
